Some favorites

about me

Bearded iris

You know those posts on Facebook and other social media where everyone asks what your favorite foods, color, etc. are?  Since I'm new and we're all getting to know each other, I figured why not!

Food - Sushi, followed closely by pizza and nachos.  But give me all the spicy tuna.  I also love nigiri and sashimi, whereas my fiancé is more of a sushi roll guy.

Season - Fall.  I love the colors.  As my allergies have died down (yay allergy shots!), I've grown to appreciate spring, but there's something about fall colors that stirs something within me.

Color - Purple, the color of royalty and female empowerment.

Artist - Edgar Degas and Judy Chicago.  There's something about the movement, line and color in Degas' that just calms me.  I discovered Judy Chicago when I stumbled upon The Dinner Party exhibit at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles in the early 90s.

Author - Neil Gaiman, hands down.  His Sandman series just blew my mind.

Book - Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.  Need to laugh?  How about a book about an angel and a demon trying to stop armageddon?  The miniseries on Amazon was based on this book, with Neil working to adapt the book to tv.

TV show - Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Teens trying to slay demons while still dealing with growing up.  It came out while I was in college and I fell in love.

Movie - Clue.  All hail Tim Curry.

Non-craft store - Ikea.  I'm an organization fanatic.  You can also throw me in any thrift, antique or comic book store and I'll be a very happy camper.

Superhero - Batgirl.  Barbara Gordon's a badass AND a librarian.  I mean, come on.

Cocktail - Dirty martini (with vodka, not gin).  This is the drink for you if you love olives.

What about you?  Got any favorites that spark joy within you?  Next time, I'll start in on my favorite crafty things!
